Where do I start?
Most people are unsure of where to begin.  Your first port of call is to contact your local Carlton branch either via email or phone 0800 662000.  If required, they will organise a free on-site inspection, at a time suitable to you, where they can discuss your requirements, measure the site and check suitability of the location.  See below for a brief guideline of what we may need to know in order to help you with this process.

Will I be given a quote at the time of the inspection?
Every function or event is different and it normally requires the representative to go back to the office to put the quote together first.  Your representative will then send a quote either by email, fax, phone or post recommending the style of marquee and it’s cost.

Can I install it myself?
The majority of temporary structures hired are required to be installed by a team of marquee specialists.  There are however a few self install options available and you can discuss these with your sales representative.

What are you payment terms?
Once you have decided on a marquee, we then ask for a 25% deposit to secure your booking.  It is company policy to have the balance, plus a refundable bond, paid in full prior to installation.  The bond amount varies on the amount of the order and this charge will be included in your quote.

Will the marquee sales person be able to help me with other items required?
Certainly, the Carlton representative can discuss and advise you on any additional items you may require such as tables and chairs, cutlery, crockery and glassware and catering equipment as well lighting, picket fencing, dance floor - the list is endless.

How far in advance will the marquee need to be erected?
Usually the marquee is installed the day prior to the function or event unless specifically requested.  However, the installation time and date and the dismantle time and date will be  agreed upon by both parties.

Can I expect any hidden costs after the rental?
Generally No - At Carlton our quotes clearly detail labour, freight and any other service charge as well as the hire of the marquee.  It will also detail either the bond and/the damage waiver fee required.  From time to time there are incidents where damage occurs and depending on how, when and where the damage did occur there may be some replacement costs if insurance does not appropriately cover it.  There are also situations that can arise during an event or function that may require some alteration or additions but these are always clearly discussed with both parties prior charges being incurred.  Full details of our terms and conditions are posted on this website.

How many people can I fit into a marquee?
Marquee capacities vary dependant on the type and style of function as well as the type of marquee.  Listed below are indicative numbers to give you a general idea of how many you can fit in each marquee, however, these numbers have not allowed for catering facilities, dance floors or staging etc which you will need to consider when planning you event or function.
